We formed our community group in 2010 under an umbrella group known as Transition Town Initiatives.
As we have taken on larger projects we have had to formalise our status from a community group, and are now a Community Interest Company, Northaw Transition C.I.C. This means we are a not-for-profit company with a social interest agenda.

Transition initiatives simply involve community discussions and projects to facilitate this. The focus is on eating and producing more local food, reducing energy waste and recycling more, educating people as to why these issues are important etc. This action is a common sense response to the problems we face in an oil dependent economy and in response to global warming.
We believe that as a community we have more power to effect change.
