Coming up in the orchard
Happy New Year if it’s not to late to say so! Hope you all had good Christmas. This has to be the wettest autumn and winter for many years so you need your wellies if you visit. Nevertheless, it is still a lovely place to commune with nature whatever the weather. We took down the yurt on a particularly sunny day before Christmas and managed to dry it off and pack it away for the winter. We have some events coming up shortly so do come along if you can.
Wassail Sunday 19th Jan 4pm
Come along and join in this traditional orchard blessing. Lots of singing, noise making, cider drinking and parading around the fields. Most importantly, sitting around a fire and having fun! Wear warm old clothes and stout shoes or wellies. Bring a torch and something, for example saucepan lids, to make a noise.
Winter pruning Saturday 8th Feb 10-12am
Continue formative pruning of our apple and pear trees. No experience necessary. Wear warm old clothes and stout shoes or wellies. Secateurs provided or bring your own.
